Bilgi Limanda Geçen Sürenin Gemilerin Marjinal Maliyetlerine Etkisi: Teorik Bir Yaklaşım

Öz

Taşıma hizmeti veren firmalar, kısa dönemde üretim ölçeklerini diğer endüstrilerden farklı olarak işgücü miktarlarını arttırarak büyütemezler. Bilindiği üzere firmalar, talep olduğu ölçüde, kısa dönemde işgücü faktörünü arttırarak üretim miktarını arttırabilseler de; bu gemi taşımacılığında imkânsızdır. Bir diğer üretim faktörü olan sermayenin, yani gemilerin bizzat kendisinin sayısının da arttırılması, yine kısa dönem içinde imkânsızdır. Çünkü gemi yapımı, her türlü teknolojik ilerlemeye rağmen ortalama 24 ay süren bir süreçtir. Gemi arzı, talepte meydana gelen artışlara, belli bir zaman gecikmesi ile cevap verebilir. Peki, o zaman kısa dönemde hiç mi kapasite artırıcı önlem olamaz? Maalesef tek bir yöntem bulunmaktadır. Gemilerin seyir süratlerini, ortalama tasarım süratinin üstüne çıkartmak. Optimal süratten uzaklaşmak anlamına gelen böyle bir karşılık ebetteki ancak navlun oranlarının da ortalamanın üzerine çıkması ile mümkündür

The Effects of Port Turnaround Time on Ships’ Marginal Costs: Theorem Approach

In transportation industry, firms can not increase their production with extra labor in the short run, contradictory to other sectors. For an increase in output, another production factor, Capital, here means ships, could not be increased within at least two years in average due to the time lag that spends in shipyards during ship’s ensemble as well. The only possible way to supply more ships transportation service in the short run is to increase the operating (cruise) speed of the ships. By doing so, the shipowners use the nature element of production factor. The only possible way also comes with additional costs. Increase in speed means more fuel cost for ships. If the increase in freight rates comprises the extra costs in fuel; it is suitable
