In recent years, China has been following a strategy of expanding its sphere of influence without threatening the established international order. The Chinese state is leading the formation of parallel international institutions. Through these institutions, China is trying to provide the external resources needed by the countries in its hinterland during the development process. This study aims to analyze the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, China's most ambitious sub-continental initiative in this field. The advantages and challenges of this initiative, which extends to a wide range from port expansion to agricultural reform, are addressed from an international political economy perspective.
