Araştırmanın amacı güç ve kuvvet
egzersizlerinin zihinsel engelli çocukların hareket beceri ve yeteneklerine etkisini saptamaktır.
Araştırmaya her biri için kişisel bilgi formları hazırlanmış 9 kız ve 17 erkek
zihinsel engelli çocuk katıldı. Durarak uzun atlama, dikey sıçrama, el-pençe
kuvveti, şınav, düz mekik, ters mekik ve otur-kalk test maddeleri bir ön test
programı içinde uygulandı. Sonra üç aylık bir egzersiz programı izlenerek
aradaki farkı bulmak için son-test ölçümleri yapıldı. Çalışmalar haftada 2 gün
ve günde 2 saat süreyle uygulandı. Verilerin ön ve son-test ölçümlerinde
bağımlı Student-t test tekniği kullanılarak Wilcoxon test sonuçlarına göre
anlamlılık düzeylerine bakıldı. Sonuç olarak, güç ve kuvvet egzersizlerinin zihinsel
engelli çocukların sportif yeteneklerini, fiziksel performanslarını,
gelişimlerini olumlu yönde etkilediği
görüldü.
