The SMEs which have an important impact on the economies of many countries have to work with transporters in both obtaining raw materials and transferring the end product to the customers. Today, it is not enough to produce a high-quality product on time which meets customer expectations. it is, also, crucial to send the end product to customers on time and safely. This study shows that, although the transporter companies could not achieve the neces-sary specialization and not sufficient in supply chain, SMEs could communicate with them in general, perceive them as a part of their total production costs and include them to their strategic plans. However, SMEs don't make long term contracts and do not allow transporters to reach the production and transportation information even though they think transporters have enough employees, equipment and capable of responding the unexpected changes. in addi-tion, they do not make contracts which includes provisions related to penalty and do not believe that transporters improve themselves constantly.
