This study aims at detrmining the possible effect of the European Union (EU) enlargement on the relationship among some chosen social and economic indicators of the Union. To do this, the relationship among the indicators before and after the enlargement is examined by using canonic correlation analysis. The findings show that each enlargement results in a decrease, even if it is a little bit, in the relationship among the social and economic indicators of the Union.
