EXPECTATIONS OF MALE AND FEMALE HIGHSCHOOL STUDENTS FROM PHYSICAL EDUCATION LESSONS

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine which physical Education objectives were perceived to be of the highest priority by highschool students. A total of 181 students (105 boys and 76 girls) from different highschools in Ankara were par­ ticipated into this study. A questionnaire which includes the 18 objectives of physical education were given to students. Research findings showed that so­ cial, ethic, esthetic, rhytmic and coordinative objectives of PE were perceived to be of the highes priority by female students. However, the male students were primarily perceived the physical objectives of physical education.
