Bio
İbrahim Yildiran finished Ankara Youth and Sports Academy in 1980. He worked in the Physical Education Head Office. He completed his master in the Institute of Social Sciences, Gazi University, and PHD dissertation at Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz-Germany. He became an assistant professor in 1993, associate professor in 1995 and full professor in 2001 in the school of Physical Education and Sports, Gazi University where he started to work in 1992. He worked as the head of the Trainer Education Department (1994-1999) and the head of the Physical Education and Sport Teacher Department (1999-2012; 2016-2018) in the same school. He was also the deputy chairman of The Federation of Traditional Sport Fields. He served as the chief editor The Journal of Turkish Social Research and The Journal of Gazi Physical Education and Sport Sciences. He is currently a member of International Council of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport and Dance (ICHPER-SD), and Turkish Sport Sciences Association. He is particularly interested in the philosophy and history of sports, fair play education in sports, Olympic movement and the development of sports idea and modern physical education.
