DergiPark DOI Service
Journals hosted on DergiPark that meet the following criteria may benefit from the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) service free of charge. DOI applications can be submitted by users holding the "Editor-in-Chief" role, as assigned by the "Scientific Publication Coordinator."
1. DOI Application Prerequisites
Journals applying for DOI services must fulfill the following requirements.
· The journal must be hosted on the DergiPark platform.
· The archive must be up-to-date and comply with the declared publication frequency.
· The average number of articles per issue must not be less than 5 (five).
· Journal pages mandatory by the system must be prepared meticulously, and the content must be unique to the journal.
2. DOI Application Conditions
To apply for the DOI service, at least one of the following conditions must be met.
Under this second point, journals selecting the "Periodical Publication Model" can apply after publishing at least 2 issues; those selecting the "Continuous Publication Model" can apply after 1 year of publication.
In this context, the following points are taken into consideration regarding the journals' article evaluation processes.
· The peer review form in the system must be uniquely prepared for the journal using various question types (open-ended, multiple-choice, etc.), allowing reviewers to conduct a detailed examination of the manuscript.
· Reviewers must be ensured to provide comments that contribute to the scientific content of the articles while filling out evaluation forms.
· There must be at least two reviewer decisions; in the case of a major revision decision, a follow-up opinion must be obtained from the same reviewer after the revision.
· The evaluation period must not be unusually short or long.
· Reviewer and author diversity must be ensured, and care should be taken not to frequently include individuals serving on editorial boards.
Journals whose applications are rejected following an investigation may re-apply after 6 months.

4. DOI Usage Rules
Journals benefiting from the DOI service are obliged to comply with the following rules:
· DOIs can only be obtained for original articles that have not been published elsewhere. Full responsibility in this matter lies with the journal editor and publisher.
· DOIs cannot be obtained for content such as journal covers, letters from the editor, or mastheads/generic information.
· DOIs obtained through DergiPark are associated with the journal's DergiPark page. If the journal leaves the platform, redirection can be arranged.
· All specified conditions are also mandatory for issues published after the DOI service has commenced. The DOI service will be terminated for journals found to be in violation.
· Journals whose applications are accepted under Article 2 must apply the submission guidelines to all their articles.
5. Pricing and Service Continuity
TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, in accordance with the sponsoring institution agreement made with CrossRef, pays a fee for each DOI obtained in addition to the membership fee. TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM reserves the authority to cancel this service in cases where the aforementioned conditions are not met.
