USING LEVEL OF GENERAL LEARNING STRATEGIES OF SCHOOL OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT STUDENTS
Abstract
This research has been
made to identify how often the School of Physical Education and Sports students
using the general learning strategies; if the learning strategies used by
students differentiate according to the gender and the branch of the sports. The
universe of the research have been composed of 730 first and second education
students of Selçuk University, School of Physical Education and Sport; Physical
Education and Sports Teacher, Sports Management and Coaching Education
Department. It has been tried to reach the total of the universe, but there
were absent students and unwilling students to join the questionnaire and the
research has been applied to 446 students. In the research as data collecting
instrument has been used personal information form developed by the researcher
and "The Evaluation Scale of General Learning Strategies" developed
by Öztürk (1995). In the analysis of the data, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal
Wallis-H, t-test and One Way Variance Analysis (ANOVA) have been used and the
significance level has been taken as (p < 0.05). In the result of the
research it has been determined that the students often use from the general
learning strategies, attention, repetition, giving meaning, fixing mind, memory
and the strategy of the cognition and they sometimes use affective strategies.
It has been also determined that some of the learning strategies used by the
students differentiate according to the gender and the branch of the sports
done by them.
