COMPARASIONAL STUDY ON VISUAL AND AUDITORY REACTION TIME OF EDUCABLE MENTALLY RETARDED BOYS AND TEIR PEERS
Abstract
The aim of this study was to compare the Educable Mentally Retarded Children (EMR) and normally developed children in the area of visual and auditory reaction time. This study was carried out on boys 15 years old (30 EMR boys, 30 normal children). In this study, Bosco New Test 2000 Battary was used for obtaining reaction time measuremenets data. As a result of this study visual and auditory RT performance of EMR boys were found significantly lower than the nonretarded subjects (p<0.05). No significant difference between visual and auditory RT performance of EMR boys were found. In addition, nonretarded children's auditory RT was considerably greater than of visual RT performance.
