A RESEARCH ON PRECEDENCY OBJECTIVES OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION LESSONS IN SECONDARY EDUCATION
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out precedency objectives of PE from perspective of four dependent group such as student, parent, PE teacher and instructors who educate them in terms of general aims of PE assessed in PE curriculum for high schools. With this purpose, a questionnaire was given to 181 students, 39 parents, 29 PE teachers work at 6 different high schools in Ankara and 23 instructors work in a PE depertment of a university. The most important 5 objects were choosen according to priority row among 18 general objectives of PE by subjects participated into this study. Frequency repetitions and related to them percent were evaluated and precedency of objectives were assessed. Distribution of precedency objectives of PE was focused on around only 7 objective, social objectives were perceived as the most important, mental ami physical objectives followed them respectively. Taking the first place of an objective includes fair play and ethic values was perceived as a society expectation. Curriculum plans M'hich give priority to physical development must be improved in this directions. In PE and Sport activities suitable behavior varieties that student can transfer them into their daily life must be applicated and thightened by PE teachers.
