EFFECTS OF A TRAINING LOAD AT DIFFERENT INTENSITIES OF ANAEROBIC TRESHOLD LEVEL ON VENTILATORY MUSCLE STRENGTH AND LUNG VOLUMES

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a training load at anaerobic threshold level (AT) 10 % below and 10 % above anaerobic threshold level on ventilatory muscle strength and lung volumes. The subjects were 21 male physical education students and their avarege age was 21.26 years old. Anaerobic treshold was determined with Conconi Test Method by using Treadmill (True 750) and Polar heart rate monitor. Mikro MPM and Mikroloop II Spiromètre devices were used to measure lung volumes of subjects. The subjects were randomly divided into 3 groups as anaerobic treshold, 10 % below and 10 % above anaerobic threshold (AT) according to their running time at their anaerobic threshold level. Then they did training load. Mikro MPM and Mikroloop Il Spiromètre test was taken before and after training load to see the chance at ventilatory muscle strength and lung volumes of subject. Wilcoxon test were used for statistical analysis. 0.05 significance level was used in this study. According to findings, there were significant decreases in some of the lung volumes after the single training load; VC of AT group and VC, FEV1, F50 of 10% below AT groups (p<0.05). In contrast, changes on ventilatory strength and lung volume of 10% above AT group were not significant. As a result, it can be said that single training load at AT and 10% below AT affected the some of lung volume of subjects.
