Diagnosis in periprosthetic infections

Öz

Periprosthetic infections that develop after total joint arthroplasty are serious complications that can reduce patients' quality of life and lead to high morbidity. In the diagnosis of periprosthetic infections, international criteria such as MSIS, ICM, and EBJIS are used, along with diagnostic tests including tissue culture, synovial fluid analysis, alpha-defensin, D-dimer, and interleukin-6. Since each test has varying specificity and sensitivity rates, a multifaceted approach is necessary for accurate infection diagnosis.

Öz

Total eklem artroplastisi sonrası gelişen periprostetik enfeksiyonlar, hastaların yaşam kalitesini düşüren ve yüksek morbiditeye yol açabilen ciddi komplikasyonlardır. Periprostetik enfeksiyonların tanısında, MSIS, ICM ve EBJIS gibi uluslararası kriterlerin yanı sıra doku kültürü, sinovyal sıvı analizi, alfa-defensin, D-dimer ve interlökin-6 gibi tanısal testler kullanılmaktadır. Her testin özgüllük ve duyarlılık oranları farklılık gösterdiğinden, enfeksiyon tanısında çok yönlü bir yaklaşım gerekmektedir.
