Melkersson Rosenthal syndrome: two case reports

Melkersson Rosenthal Syndrome (MRS) is a rarely seen syndrome with unknown etiology. It is described with a classic triad as recurrent facial paralysis, orofacial edema, and tongue with fissure (lingua plicata). This triad is not always being together with MRS cases. The current manuscript presents two patients one of whom had a classical triad and the other one having an orofacial edema and fissure with a history of two times facial paralysis.

Melkersson Rosenthal sendromu: iki olgu sunumu

Öz

Melkersson Rosenthal Sendromu (MRS) nadir görülen etyolojisi bilinmeyen bir sendromdur. Rekürren fasiyal paralizi, orofasiyal ödem ve fissürlü dilden (lingua plicata) oluşan klasik triad ile tanımlanır. Bu triad MRS vakalarında her zaman birlikte bulunmayabilir. Makalemizde biri klasik triada sahip, diğeri daha önce iki kez fasiyal paralizi geçiren fakat kliniğimize başvurduğunda orofasiyal ödem ve fissürlü dil bulguları olan oligosemptomatik iki olgu sunulmuştur.
