Öz

Introduction: The aim of this study is to determine the knowledge of the patients about anaesthesia procedure and anesthesiologists and concerns and anxiety of the patients about anaesthesia procedure.Methods: A form consisting of 32 questions were given to the patients at anaesthesia policlinic before the surgery. The questions were about social-demographical properties of patients, patients' knowledge about anaesthesia, anesthesiologists and their tasks and patients' concerns about anaesthesia. 500 patiens were invited to fill out the form.

Results: 480 of the 500 forms filled were suitable for the assessment. 44.2% of the participants knew that anesthesiologist is a medical doctor. 73.3% of participants estimated that anaesthesia implementation is carried out by anesthesiolgist, 26% estimated that follow up during the surgery period is carried out by anesthesiolgist, 10% estimated that if any problem occurs during surgical period the treatment should be performed by anesthesiolgist. 66.5% of participants were 

scared of postoperative pain, 46.5% were scared of not waking up after anaesthesia period, 47.7% were scared of waking up during the operation, 36% were scared of unskillfulness or inexperience of the anesthesiologist.

Discussion and Conclusion: It is determined from this study that role of anesthesiologist especially at follow-up during surgery and management of postoperative pain is not well-known by the patients.

Öz



Giriş ve Amaç:



Çalışmanın amacı hastaların anestezi, anestezi uzmanı ve
görevleri hakkındaki bilgilerini saptamak ve hastaların anesteziye yönelik
endişe ve korkularını araştırmaktır.

Gereç ve Yöntem:

Operasyonu planlanan hastalara anestezi polikliniğinde 32 soruluk bir anket
formu uygulandı. Anket, hastaların sosyodemografik özelliklerinin yanı sıra
anestezi hakkında bilgileri, anestezistler ve görevleri konusunda bilgileri ve
anesteziden duydukları endişeleri konularında soruları içermekteydi. 500
hastaya ulaşılması planlandı.

Bulgular:

Doldurulan 500 anket formundan 480 tanesi değerlendirmeye uygundu.
Katılımcıların %44,2 ’si anestezistin uzman hekim olduğunu biliyordu; %73,3’ü
anestezi uygulamasının anestezi uzmanı tarafından yapıldığını düşünüyordu.
Katılımcıların %26’sı anestezi sırasında takibin anestezi uzmanı tarafından
yapıldığını; %10’u operasyon sırasında bir problem çıktığında gerekli tedavinin
anestezi uzmanı tarafından yapılacağını düşünüyordu. Katılımcıların %66,5’i
operasyon sonu ağrı çekmekten, %46,5’i anesteziden uyanamamaktan, %47,7’si
operasyon sırasında uyanmaktan, %36’sı anestezistin bilgisiz ya da deneyimsiz
olmasından korkuyordu.

Tartışma ve Sonuç:

Çalışmamızda, anestezi uzmanlarının vaka takibinde, operasyon sırasında meydana
çıkan sorunların çözümünde ve postoperatif ağrı yönetimindeki rolünün hastalar
tarafından bilinirliği az olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
