Severity Index Analysis of Construction Labor Productivity Factors in terms of Technical Personnel and Labors
Öz
This study aims to determine the critical factors (CFs) affecting labor productivity (LP) in terms of technical personnel and labors in building production, in a certain order of importance. As a result of a comprehensive literature study, the first five critical factors that most affect LP in the studies were determined and a total of 20 critical factors were formed. A total of 280 valid samples were collected by 150 labors and 130 technical personnel who are currently working or have worked in construction. These CFs are ranked according to their importance index (II), frequency index (FI), and severity index (SI). Also, the first five factors of studies in literature ranked according to their importance index (II). The Kruskal-Wallis test was applied to examine differences in opinion between workers and technical personnel. According to the results, it has been determined that technical personnel and laborers have similar opinions on some factors affecting LP, also they have different perspectives on many factors. In this context, knowing the factors where the groups agree and disagree will greatly increase the sustainability of the LP in the construction industry. It is hoped that this study will contribute significantly to increasing LP in building production.
