Balanced and adequate nutrition is an important factor affecting the quality of life at all ages and is a critical factor that directly affects performance for both athletes and individuals who do sports recreationally for a healthy life. The importance of adequate and balanced nutrition increases especially when considered for individuals who regularly engage in physical activity. Considering this importance, it is thought that this study will contribute to the literature in terms of better understanding the nutritional habits and knowledge levels of individuals who do regular exercise. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the general nutritional knowledge levels of individuals who do sports recreationally in Türkiye and the relationship between their nutritional supplement use habits and some demographic and behavioral variables. Method: A total of 407 individuals (Female = 218, Male = 189) living in the provinces of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa and Kocaeli and who were determined to do regular exercise participated in the study. The weighted average age value calculated according to age ranges was found to be 29.7 years. Data were collected via Google Form, and participants were asked questions about demographic information, exercise and supplement habits, and the General Nutrition Knowledge Questionnaire (GNKQ) developed by Parmenter - Wardle (1999). The obtained data were analyzed with SPSS 23.0 software. Findings: No significant difference was found between knowledge levels according to gender (p>0.05). No significant difference was found in knowledge levels according to education level (p>0.05). A weak relationship was found between training durations and knowledge levels (p>0.05). Conclusion: The general nutrition knowledge levels of the individuals participating in the study were low and this knowledge level was not significantly affected by the basic variables.
