A Study on the Effect’s of the Stroyline Based on the Education Five Years Old Children’s to Gaining Respect for Diversities

The purpose of this research is to analyse the children who attend kindergarten that training based on storyline method how to affect their respect for diversities. Two different primary schools have totally 104 children who were attending kindergarten for the 2013-2014 academic year in Ankara, and they both depend on the program of MEB 2013. In this research “Personal information form” and “Scale of respect for diversities” was applied to collect data. Storyline method was applied to the experimental group. In this research, to find out the difference between scores of tests, “Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test” was applied. Besides, in the experiment and control groups according to the “Mann-Whitney U Test” whether the gender is a factor that affects the score of the “respect for diversities” or not. Regarding the findings of the research, there are significant differences in the pre-test and post-test scores of respect for diversities between control and experimental group. To figure out that whether the rising effect of designed Storyline method application is permanent or not, the permanence test was applied after one month and analysed. According to the analysis, there is no significant difference in post-test scores and permanence test large numbers of both experimental and control groups. According to the findings, it could be claimed that instructional activities which were prepared based on the Storyline method helped children to gain respect for diversities significantly when it was used in addition to the daily educational activities that have already existed in MEB Early Childhood Program.
