COVİD-19 TANISIYLA HASTANEDE YATAN HASTALARDA ANKSİYETE VE UYKU BOZUKLUĞU BELİRTİLERİNİN SOSYODEMOGRAFİK VE KLİNİK FAKTÖRLERLE İLİŞKİSİ

Öz

Bu çalışmadaki amacımız COVİD-19 tanısıyla yatırılarak tedavi altına alınan hastaların anksiyete belirtileriyle uyku sorunlarının sosyal ve klinik değişkenlerle ilişkisini araştırmaktır. Kesitsel özellikteki bu çalışmaya Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi’nde 01.06.2020-31.08.2020 tarihleri arasında COVİD-19 tanısıyla yatırılarak tedavi edilen hastalar dâhil edildi. Sosyodemografik veriler kaydedildi ve tüm olgulara Uykusuzluk Şiddeti İndeksi (UŞİ) ve Hamilton Anksiyete Değerlendirme Ölçeği (HADÖ) uygulandı. Ortalama yaşı 46,46±15,39 yıl olan 78 (28 kadın, 50 erkek) olgu değerlendirildi. Yaş (p=0,784) ve meslek (p=0,480) cinsiyetler arasında benzerdi. Kadınlarla erkekler arasında UŞİ skoru açısından farklılık saptanmazken (p=0,625), HADÖ skoru kadınlarda anlamlı olarak daha yüksekti (p=0,022). Pandemi sürecinde uyku sorunları yaşadığını bildirenlerle bildirmeyenlerin ortalama yaşı (p=0,264) benzerdi; UŞİ skoru (p<0,001) ile HADÖ skoru (p<0,001) arasında anlamlı farklılık vardı. UŞİ ile HADÖ arasında (r=0,683; p<0,001); UŞİ ile yaş (r=0,294; p=0,009) arasında anlamlı pozitif korelasyon vardı. Yaş ile HADÖ arasında korelasyon saptanmadı (r=0,121; p=0,293). Yaşın etkisi sabitlendiğinde UŞİ ile HADÖ arasında anlamlı pozitif korelasyon (r=0,683; p<0,001) devam ediyordu. COVİD-19 pandemisinin yol açtığı psikolojik sorunlar gün geçtikçe daha da fazla görünür hale gelmektedir. Bu çalışma hastanede yatarak tedavi gören hasta grubunda anksiyete ile uyku arasındaki belirgin bir ilişki olduğunu göstermektedir.

THE RELATIONSHIP OF ANXIETY AND SLEEP DISORDER SYMPTOMS WITH SOCIODEMOGRAPHIC AND CLINICAL FACTORS IN HOSPITALIZED PATIENTS WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF COVID-19

Öz

Our aim in this study is to investigate the relationship between anxiety symptoms and sleep problems with social and clinical variables in patients hospitalized and treated for COVID-19. Patients hospitalized with the diagnosis of COVID-19 in the Training and Research Hospital between 01.06.2020-31.08.2020 were included in this cross-sectional study. Sociodemographic data were recorded and the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) and Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) were applied to all cases. Seventy-eight cases (28 females, 50 males) with a mean age of 46.46±15.39 years were evaluated. Age (p=0.784) and work (p=0.480) were similar between genders. While there was no difference between male and female in terms of ISI score (p=0.625), the HARS score was significantly higher in females (p=0.022). The mean age (p=0.264) of those who reported having sleep problems during the pandemic process and those who did not report it were similar; There was a significant difference between the ISI score (p<0.001) and the HARS score (p<0.001). There was a significant positive correlation between ISI and HARS (r=0.683; p<0.001) and between ISI and age (r=0.294; p=0.009). There was no correlation between age and HARS (r=0.121; p=0.293). When the effect of age was controlled, a significant positive correlation (r=0.683; p<0.001) continued between the ISI and HARS. The psychological problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are becoming more and more visible day by day. This study shows that there is a significant relationship between anxiety and sleep in the COVID-19 inpatient group.
