Rhetoric

Öz

Rhetoric is one of the nine parts of classical logic. Rhetoric was studied in history as one of branches of logic by Aristotle at first, even if it is discussed. Theory of rhetorical ar-gumantation which was introduced by Aristotle was studied by next logicians again. First theory of rhetoric in Islamic world was studied by al-Farabi. In this study the part of al-Farabi’s Book of Rhetoric is firstly going to be translated to Turkish. In this part of book al-Farabi clarifies basic terms which is very important for theory of rhetoric and demonstration like igno-rance, belief, view, persuasion, certitude and opinion, and re-views deliberations which were discussed by anchient philo-sophers about situation of assumption.

Retorik

Öz

Retorik klasik mantığın dokuz bölümünden biridir. Retorik, tartışmalı da olsa, mantık biliminin bir dalı olarak ilk defa Aristoteles tarafından incelenmiştir. Aristoteles’in vazettiği retorik kanıtlama teorisi sonraki dönem mantıkçılarınca yeniden inceleme konusu edilmiştir. İslam Dünyasındaki ilk retorik kuramı Fârâbî tarafından ortaya konulmuştur. Bu çalışmada Fârâbî’nin Retorik adlı kitabının bir kısmı ilk defa Türkçeye kazandırılmaktadır. Eserin bu bölümünde Fârâbî bilgisizlik, inanç, görüş, kanaat, kesin bilgi ve zan gibi hem retorik hem de burhan teorisi açısından çok önemli olan temel terimlere açıklık getirmekte ve zan durumları ile ilgili antik filozoflar tarafından yapılan tartışmaları değerlendirmektedir.
