In this study, which examines the expression أَمَا بَعْدُ (emmâ ba'd) in Arabic grammar and literature, first of all, the words emma and badd are explained one by one, then, the use/composition of these two together is discussed and the details are emphasized. The expression أَمّا بَعْدُ (emma ba‘d), which is used at the beginning of the speech and indicates the great importance of the next expression, and which means now when it comes to the main issue, it is a combination used in oral and written expressions in Arabic grammar and literature. In speeches, sermons, correspondence and introductory works (Hutbetu'l-Kitâb), basmala is used to pass the main word after hamdele and salvele. Acting as a bridge between this introduction, which consists of prayer, and the word constituting its main purpose, and thus harmonizing the two words, أَمّا بَعْدُ is a compound that replaces the conditional preposition and the conditional verb. Various opinions have been put forward about the origin, function and history of this combination, which consists of the letter أَمْا and بَعْدُ.
