NADİR GÖRÜLEN BİR AKCİĞER KARSİNOMU: DEV HÜCRELİ KARSİNOM

Öz

Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (DSÖ), sarkom veya sarkom benzeri komponent içeren tümörleri kapsayan malign epithelial tumor altgrubunu "pleomorfik, sarkomatoid veya sarkomatöz elemanlar içeren karsinomlar" adı altında toplamaktadır (1). Sarkomatoid karsinomlar çok nadir görülen akciğer tümörleridir; tüm akciğer malignitelerinin yaklaşık %0.1-0.4'ünü meydana getirmektedir. Dev hücreli akciğer karsinomu, sarkomatoid karsinomların bir altgrubudur. Solunumsal yakınması olmayan 50 yaşındaki erkek hastanın akciğer radyogramında ve toraks bilgisayarlı tomografisi'nde sağ akciğer üst lobda bir kitle lezyonu saptandı. Tetkikler sonrasında "küçük hücreli dışı akciğer karsinomu" tanısı kondu. Klinik ve radyolojik olarak evre Ib (T2N0M0) olarak evrelenen hastaya sağ üst lobektomi + Mediastinal lenf bezi diseksiyonu + sağ intratorasik tiroidektomi operasyonu uygulandı. Histopatolojik inceleme sonucu "dev hücreli akciğer karsinomu" ile uyumlu bulundu. Hasta, nadir bir akciğer tümörü olan dev hücreli akciğer karsinomu tanısı ile literatür bilgileri eşliğinde sunuldu.

A RARE PULMONARY CARCINOMA: GIANT CELL CARCINOMA

Öz

World Health Organization classifies malignant epithelial tumors which contain sarcomas as "carcinomas with pleomorphic, sarcomatoid or sarcomatous elements" Sarcomatoid carcinomas are rare pulmonary tumors, composing approximately 0.1-0.4% of all lung malignancies. Giant cell pulmonary carcinoma is a subgroup of sarcomatoid carcinoma. Chest radiogram and thorax Computerized Tomography of a 50-years-old male patient with no pulmonary symptom revealed a mass lesion in right upper lobe. He was diagnosed to have "nonsmall cell lung cancer". He was staged clinically and radiologically as stage Ib (T2N0M0) and right upper lobectomy + Mediastinal lymph node dissection + right intrathoracic thyroidectomy were performed. "Giant cell pulmonary carcinoma" was diagnosed after histopathological examination. The patient was presented in attendance with literature as a rare pulmonary tumor, giant-cell pulmonary carcinoma.
