TÜBERKÜLOZA BAĞLI OTİTİS MEDİA: OLGU SUNUMU

Öz

Tüberküloza bağlı otitis media (TOM), nadir görülen bir ekstrapulmoner tüberküloz tiplerinden bir tanesidir. Tanı ve tedavide gecikme olması durumunda fasiyal paralizi, fistül gelişimi, santral sinir sistemi tüberkülozu ve kalıcı işitme kaybı gibi ciddi komplikasyonlar gelişebilir. Literatürde, uzun süre nonspesifik antibiyotik tedavisi almasına rağmen düzelme olmayan, süpüratif otitis media tanısı olan ve sonradan tüberküloza bağlı otitis media saptanan nadir sayıda olgu bildirilmiştir. Tanı konulduktan sonra uygun antitüberküloz tedavi ile hastalar genellikle düzelir. Bu makalede, uzun süre antimikrobiyal tedavi ile düzelmeyen kronik süpüratif otiti olan ve sonunda tüberküloza bağlı otitis media TOM tanısı alan yirmi dört yaşında bayan olgu, literatür ışığında tartışılmıştır.

TUBERCULOUS OTITIS MEDIA: CASE REPORT

Abstract

Tuberculous otitis media (TOM) is a rare type of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Severe complications such as facial paralysis, fistulization, tuberculosis of the central nervous system and permanent deafness may occur in case of diagnosis and treatment delay. Patients usually can be cured with appropriate antituberculous therapy after diagnosis. In this paper, a 24 years old woman who had chronic supurative otitis media despite antimicrobial therapy and finally diagnosed as TOM is discussed in the light of the literature.
