Music in Shakespeare's Plays

Öz

Bu çalışma, Shakespeare oyunlarının müzikle olan ilişkisini, dönemin oyunlarında kullanılan müziğin fonksiyonunu incelemeye, Elizabeth dönemindeki müzik anlayışını sunmaya ve müziğin Antik Yunan Tiyatrosu ve Çağdaş Tiyatro’da kullanımı araştırmaya yöneliktir. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde Antik Yunan Tiyatrosu’ndaki oyunlarının ortaya çıkışı ve müziğin o dönemde tuttuğu yer incelenirken; ikinci kısımda Çağdaş Tiyatro dallarından bir tanesi olan Epik Tiyatro’da kullanılan müzik hakkında bilgi sunulur. Çalışmanın devamında ise, sanatın ve dolayısıyla müziğin Elizabeth döneminde kraliçenin destekleriyle gelişmesi tartışılırken, Shakespeare’in başarısı ve geniş müzik bilgisi hakkında fikirler ileri sürülür. Bu çalışmanın amacı, hem Shakespeare’in oyunlarını yazdığı dönemin tarihi arka planını vermek; hem de Antik Yunan Tiyatrosu’ndan Çağdaş Tiyatro’ya kadar uzanan tiyatro ve müzik ilişkisini, Altın Çağ döneminde Shakespeare’in oyunlarına nasıl yansıttığını ortaya koymaktır.
