Yoksulluğun Çocuklar Üzerindeki Çok Boyutlu Etkisi

Öz

Bu çalışma, yoksulluğun çocuklar üzerindeki etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada eğitim, sağlık, aile içi ilişkiler ve sosyal dışlanma açılarından yoksulluğun çocukları nasıl etkilediği ele alınmaya çalışılmıştır. Çocuk yoksulluğu, gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkeleri ilgilendiren önemli bir sorundur. Çocuk yoksulluğu kavramı; çocukların, yaşamlarının ilerleyen dönemlerinde, topluma etkin ve eşit bireyler olarak katılmalarını güçleştiren çok boyutlu yoksunluklar kümesi olarak tanımlanabilir. Diğer taraftan çocukların ilk yıllardaki gelişimleri, daha sonraki gelişimlerinin temelini oluşturmaktadır. Bu ilk yılların önemi göz önüne alındığında, küçük çocuklara mümkün olan en iyi başlangıcın sağlanması kritik öneme sahiptir. Ancak çocukların yoksulluk içinde büyümeleri, hayata iyi bir başlangıç yapmalarına engel olmakta ve yaşamlarının ilerleyen dönemlerinde de dezavantajlı bir duruma düşmelerine neden olmaktadır. Nitekim araştırmalar, yoksulluk içinde büyümenin çocuklarda pek çok açıdan (fiziksel, zihinsel ve ruhsal vb.) ciddi hasarlara neden olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Söz konusu hasarlar, çoğu zaman ömür boyu devam edebilmekte ve bireyler yoksulluğu daha sonra çocuklarına da aktarabilmektedir. Diğer ifadeyle yoksulluk, bir kısır döngü olarak sürebilmektedir. Dolayısıyla yoksullukla mücadeleye çocukluk döneminden itibaren başlanması gerekmektedir. Bu kapsamda çalışmada çocuk yoksulluğunun nasıl azaltılabileceğine ilişkin çeşitli önerilere yer verilmiştir

The Multidimensional Impact of Poverty on Children

Öz

This study aims to examine the impact of poverty on children. The study tried to discuss how poverty affects children in terms of education, health, family relations and social exclusion. Child poverty is an important problem that concerns developed and developing countries. The concept of child poverty; It can be explained as a set of multidimensional deprivations that make it difficult for children to participate in society as active and equal individuals later in their lives. On the other hand, children's development in their early years forms the basis of their later development. Given the importance of these early years, it is critical that young children are given the best possible start. However, growing up in poverty prevents children from having a good start in life and causes them to be at a disadvantage later in life. As a matter of fact, research shows that growing up in poverty causes serious damage to children in many aspects (physical, mental and spiritual, etc.). These damages can often last a lifetime, and individuals can later transmit poverty to their children. In other words, poverty can continue as a vicious circle. Therefore, combating against poverty must start from childhood. Additionally, it provides some suggestions for reducing child poverty.
