THE SPOKEN LANGUAGE OF MINORITIES IN TURKISH LITERATURE

Öz

Multilingualism means that many languages are spoken in a country. How would be the language of people who live in different countries than their native lands and who learn and speak the standard language spoken in that country? When communities or individuals with different ethnic backgrounds-minorities living in different countries - use the standard language of that country with very different deviations in both speaking and writing. For instance, a wide range of languages are spoken in Turkey. It is seen that the people whose mother tongues are not Turkish but live either permanently or temporarily in Turkey use the spoken language with different deviations. These deviations can be observed in the form of sound, word coinage, syntax, and so on. The language of minorities best exemplify the differences in language deviations. These people who speak their mother tongue in the family or in their own social circles unavoidably carry the sound, form or syntax features of their mother tongues into the second language when they speak standard Turkish, which in turn leads to differences in the spoken language. We can hear and observe these differences more clearly in everyday language while they are reflected in the written language through genres such as story, novel, and theater and so on. In our communiqué, we will present the usage characteristics that differ on the basis of standard Turkish with various examples we have selected from various works of Turkish literature of the 19th and 20th centuries.
