The Zionist Movement, Israel and Violence

Öz

This study examines the collective work The Zionist Movement, Israel, and Violence, edited by Fadi Zatari and Selman Emre Gürbüz. Compiled with contributions from eight scholars, this volume argues that Zionist violence is not a random or exceptional phenomenon, but rather a fundamental and structural element of the project. The review examines the book’s two main axes, theoretical and practical, analyzing chapters that bring together perspectives on historical analysis, settler-colonial theory, the discourse of terrorism, theo-politics, decolonial international relations theory, military strategy, discourse analysis, and international law. The collection is regarded as a unique contribution to the existing literature in the field due to its multidimensional and interdisciplinary approach to violence. Consequently, the book is identified as essential reading for scholars working in the fields of international relations, settler-colonialism, and decolonial theory.
