Previous studies examining the Environmental Phillips Curve (EPC) hypothesis could not discover the impact of unemployment rates in different age groups on the environment. Assuming that aggregation bias may play a role, this study focuses on unemployment rates. This study undertakes a comprehensive examination of the effects of unemployment rates across various age ranges, encompassing ten years and the aggregate unemployment rate. The analysis incorporates six distinct models to enhance the robustness of the findings. While the EPC hypothesis remains unconfirmed in the 55-64 age group, it is substantiated in all other models. The most pronounced effect was observed in the 25-34 age group. This f inding contributes to a more nuanced understanding of the role of age groups in environmental and unemployment issues.
