The goal of education and teaching in today’s world is to educate students who are actively involved in research and teaching environments and who are asking questions and looking for understanding, where the student is the center and the teacher is the guide. For this reason, the view that education and training can be done only in the school environment no longer applies today, and the importance of non-school learning environments has increased. This study looked at non-school learning environments. The purpose of this study is to examine the views of students who study higher education at museums and who make “educational use of museums.” The study group for this research benefited from qualitative research methods: data was obtained from “21” class teacher candidates who are studying at Kilis 7 December University during the fall semester of 2016–2017 academic year. The data obtained as a result of the open-ended questions directed at the participants were evaluated by means of descriptive analysis. According to the results, teacher candidates see museums as facilitating places which support learning, and they place great responsibility on these educational institutions.
