 The gender pay gap
in the mean is historically observed widespread throughout the world. This gap still
remains as a serious problem despite the decrease from the past to the present
day.

In this study, it is statistically tested according to
the Times Higher Education 2017 Survey whether the gender pay gap in the
average in higher education in the UK is valid.

As a result of the statistical analyzes and tests in the
study, it was determined that the gender pay gap in the average in the higher
education in the UK is still valid.

It is still of great importance to develop effective
strategies and policies by decision makers in the higher education in order to
reduce gender pay gap affecting negatively motivation and performance of the
employee.
