Individual liberty and women's equality are the concepts which make our existence as human beings more meaningful but even in our times they continue to be problematic. In this study, I make the analysis of women's degraded position in society, describing how men's dominance of women corrupts both men and women as outlined in John Stuart Mill's philosophy. On utilitarian grounds, he argued that no society could hope to approach happiness so long as half of its people were in a state of subjection. "The ideal of the development of individuality" what he proposed as for happiness, could only be acquired in an order providing women with the equal conditions.
