Orbital liposarcoma: A case report

Abstract

Although liposarcoma is the most common soft tissue sarcomas, head and neck sarcomas especially orbital liposarcoma is very rare. So we decided to evaluate a patient with orbital lyposarcoma who treated and followed-up in our clinic as a case report. A 43-year-old male patient had visual loss since 2003. Heterogen solid mass about 3x3.9x3.5 cm was in right medial rectus in orbital computed tomography. The mass was excised completely. External radiotherapy with Co 60 teletherapy was given 50 Gy/ 25 fraction. In his clinical control after the operation, no recurrence and metasthasis was detected.

Orbital liposarkom: Olgu sunumu

Öz

Liposarkom, en sık görülen yumuşak doku sarkomlarından olmasına karşın, baş-boyun bölgesinde, özellikle de orbital kavitede oldukça nadirdir. Bu yazıda, literatürdeki nadir olgulardan biri olan, orbital liposarkom sunuldu. Kırk üç yaşında erkek hastada 2003 yılından itibaren görme bozukluğu şikayeti vardı. Göz polikliniğine müracatı sonucu çekilen orbita bilgisayarlı tomografide sağ medial rektus kası düzeyinde 3x3.9x3.5 cm boyutlarında heterojen kontras tutan kitle saptandı. Yapılan biyopside malign mezenkimal tümör (liposarkom) tanısı gelen hastaya sağ göz enükleasyon ameliyatı yapıldı. Sağ orbital bölgeye 25 fraksiyonda 50 Gy radyoterapi Co 60 ile uygulandı. Hastanın son kontrolünde nüks veya metastaz saptanmadı.
