Yeni Ekonomide Yenilikçi Ürünler, Mahkumlar İkilemi veFirmalar için Artan Bir Maliyet Bileşeni

Bilgi ve iletişim sektörlerindeki teknolojik gelişmeler küreselleşme ile birlikte bir dönüşüm süreci ve yeni bir ekonomi başlatmıştır. Yeni teknolojiler üreten Yeni Ekonomi firmaları, ürünlerinin ekonomik avantajlarına vurgu yaparak ve ürünlerini erken benimsemenin avantajlarını vurgulayarak, ürünlerinin kullanımını bu dönüşüm sürecinde teşvik etmektedirler. Buna ilaveten, bu dönüşümün yönünü tahmin eden ve yeni ortama kendilerini başarı ile adapte edenlerin daha güçlendiklerini ve yeni ortamdaki sürekli değişimin bu değişime direnen kuruluşları dönüşüm sonucunu görmeden elediğini Yeni Ekonomi firmaları hatırlatmaktadır. Bu bir pazarlama stratejisidir. Bu çalışma söz konusu pazarlama stratejisini ve yeni ürünleri benimseyen firmaların davranışını bir oyun teorisi modeli kurarak incelemektedir. İlginç sonuçlardan biri, piyasa parametrelerinin uygun olması durumunda yenilikçi ürünleri benimsemenin kesin başat strateji olduğu ve oyunun mahkumlar ikilemi ile sonuçlandığıdır. Yenilikçi bir ürün benimsemek ilk kademede bir kazanç sağlamakta fakat son kademeye gelindiğinde benimseyeni zarar ettirmektedir.
