Yield and fruit quality evaluation of 'Narince' grapes (Vitis vinifera cv. Narince) grafted on four different rootstocks
Abstract
Türkiye, which has an important place in the world viticulture, has a large variety of varieties categorized as table, wine and raisins grapes with its local grapes. Narince grape is one of the important white wine grape varieties in the country. Due to the fact that the world's soils are contaminated with phylloxera, the use of rootstock has become a necessity for efficient, high quality and most importantly, economic viticulture for many years. Research on the determination of characteristics such as seedling yield, yield-quality in the rootstock-variety relationship is one of the topics that continues to be popular today. In our study, the effects of four different rootstocks (110R, 140Ru, 41B and 5BB) on the physical, chemical and biochemical properties of Narince grape were investigated. The study was carried out in the province of Tokat, where Narince grapes are grown intensively, in 2020 and 2021. In this study, which focuses on the rootstock-variety relationship and the effects of years, when physical parameters such as cluster and berry were examined, it was determined that 41B rootstock, 140 Ru and 5BB rootstocks in chemical properties, 140 Ru and 5BB rootstocks in maturity index, and 5BB rootstock in total phenolic content from biochemical properties were determined.
