Measurement of the K-Shell Fluorescence Cross-Sections, Fluorescence Yields and Transition Rates at 59.54 keV photon energy

Abstract

The K-shell x-ray fluorescence cross-sections, fluorescence yields and transition ratios are determined experimentally for the elements Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Se, Mo, Ag, Gd and Dy at excitation energy of 59.54 keV associated with 𝛾-rays of 241Am radioisotope. Kx-rays emitted by samples were detected by a Ge(Li) detector with resolution ~160 eV at 59.54 keV. A comparison is made of the experimental results with appropriate theoretical values and other measured values. A good agreement is observed between experimental and theoretical values.
