Giant inflammatory fibroid polyp causing invagination: case report

Abstract

İnvagination is a clinical entity, which describes infolding of proximal part of the intestine with in distal part. Only 5% of the invaginations occur in adulthood. İnflammatory polyp, is a rare disorder, which may present in anywhere of gastrointestinal tract but mostly originated from gastral antrum. We report a 42-year-old patient who developed an ileocholic invagination due to a giant polypoid mass on terminal ileum. To whom we performed terminal ileum resection with right hemicholectomy and pathologic examination showed that the mass is inflammatory polyp. J Clin Exp Invest 2013; 4 (3): 443-446

İnvajinasyona sebep olan dev inflamatuar fibroid polip: Olgu sunumu

Öz

İnvajinasyon proksimaldeki barsak parçasının distal parça içine girmesi ile karakterize bir klinik tablodur. Tüm invajinasyonların yalnızca %5\'i erişkinde görülür. İnflamatuar fibroid polip gastrointestinal sistemin nadir görülen, en sık mide antrumundan köken almakla birlikte gastrointestinal sistemin her yerinde görülebilen lezyonudur. Yazımızda 42 yaşında terminal ileumda dev polipoid kitleye bağlı ileokolik invajinasyon gelişen ve malignite şüphesiyle terminal ileum rezeksiyonuyla beraber sağ hemikolektomi yapılan ve kitlenin patolojisi inflamatuar fibriod polip olarak değerlendirilen olgu sunulmaktadır.
