Childhood Shaped by Poetry: Educational Construct and Aesthetic Structure in Şermin
Öz
This study evaluates the work titled Şermin not merely as a children's poetry book, but as a cultural and ideological construction process in which educational values are structured through an aesthetic language. Within the scope of the research, the poems in Şermin are analysed through a holistic perspective based on the themes of childhood construction and moral guidance. In addition to the existing literature, the study reinterprets the texts through the lenses of rationalism, contemporary education, aesthetic discipline, and social ethics, thereby making the connections between these concepts visible. Rather than a dry didactic tone, the educational approach in Şermin emphasizes an instructional quality that dispels the fears in a child's world through rational explanations and positions the school at the center of life. In this respect, the work demonstrates how poetry functions as an operational educational tool in children's literature. Through its thematic framework, this research aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of educational elements within the field of children's literature.
