Öz

Aim : The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of activity and disease self-management of patients with type 2 diabetes.
Materials and Methods: The sample of the descriptive and correlational study consisted of 197 patients with type 2 diabetes who applied to the endocrinology outpatient clinic and diabetes education unit of a hospital in Central Anatolia between January and April 2024. Data were collected using the Patient Descriptive Information Form, Patient Activity Level Measurement Tool (PAM) and Chronic Disease Self-Management Scale (CDMSS).
Results: The mean total score of PAM was 62.29±17.32 and the mean total score of CDMSS was 65.44±8.34. A moderately significant positive correlation was found between PAM and CDMSS total mean scores of patients with type 2 diabetes (r: 0.553, p<0.001). According to the PAM levels of the patients, the mean scores of the CDMSS and its sub-dimensions differed.
Conclusion: In the study, it was found that the level of activity (Level 3) and disease self-management of patients with Type 2 diabetes were high. As the disease activity level of individuals increases, their disease self-management increases.
