Gelişen Sekiz İslam Ülkesi (Developing Eight, D-8) kapsadığı coğrafi alan itibariyle bölgesel olmaktan çok küresel bir oluşum özelliğine sahip olan; kuruluşunda Türkiye’nin başrolünü üstlendiği bir “kalkınmada işbirliği” organizasyonudur. Bu organizasyonda bulunan ülkeler; İran, Pakistan, Bangladeş, Malezya, Endonezya, Mısır ve Nijerya’dan oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, üye ülkelerin olası gümrük birliği uygulaması olması halinde birbirleriyle yapacakları ticaretin yeterliliği üzerine analizi ve herhangi bir ürün kodunda üye ülkelerin ihracatı ve ithalatında birbirlerine yeterliliği araştırılmıştır. Ürünler fasıllara göre sınıflandırılmış (Harmonize Sistem) ve bu fasıllarda yapılan ihracat ve ithalat rakamları karşılaştırılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda Mineral yakıtlar, mineral yağlar ve bunların damıtılmasından elde edilen ürünler, bitümenli maddeler, mineral mumlar adlı ürün faslında üye ülkelerin toplam ihracatı yaklaşık 178 Milyar $ olup buna karşılık toplam ithalatı yaklaşık 96 Milyar $ olmuştur. Bu ürünün ihracatında 51 Milyar $ ile ilk sırayı Nijerya alırken onu, 50 Milyar $ ile Malezya takip etmiştir. Bu ürünün ithalatında ise 38 Milyar $’la ilk sırayı Türkiye almıştır. Yine, Kıymetli veya yarı kıymetli taşlar, kıymetli metaller, inciler, taklit mücevherci eşyası, metal paralar adlı ürün faslında üye ülkelerin toplam ihracatı yaklaşık 16 Milyar $ olup toplam ithalatı yaklaşık olarak 9 Milyar $’dır. Bu üründe en fazla ihracat yapan ülke yaklaşık 11 Milyar $ ile Türkiye olmuş ve ithalatında da yaklaşık 4 Milyar $ ile ilk sırada yer almıştır. Malezya yaklaşık 3 Milyar $ ithalatla ikinci sırada yer almıştır. Diğer taraftan, Elektrikli makina ve cihazlar, ses kaydetme-verme, televizyon görüntü-ses kaydetme-verme cihazları, aksam-parça-aksesuarı gibi fasıllarda üye ülkelerin toplam ihracatı 59 Milyar $ olup, buna karşılık toplam ithalatı 71 Milyar $ olmuştur. Bu üründe toplam ihracatın toplam ithalatın %83 gibi büyük bir kısmını karşılayabileceği görülmüştür. Yapılan diğer karşılaştırmalı fasıllar sonucunda üye ülkelerin birçok üründe birbirine yeterli olduğu, herhangi bir dışa bağımlılığa gerek kalmadan dış ticaretlerinin gerçekleştirilebileceği saptanmıştır

Developing Eight (D-8), which has a very global formation characteristic rather than
regional in terms of the geographical area covered by the developing Eight Islamic Country (D-8) is a "development cooperation" organization in which Turkey takes the lead. Countries in this organization
are Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt and Nigeria. This study investigates the
analysis of the competence of the member countries in the case of possible customs union application
and the competence of each member in the export and import of the member countries in any product
code. The products are classified according to their chapters (Harmonized System) and export and
import figures made in these chapters are compared. As a result of the analyzes made, the total exports
of mineral fuels, mineral oils and their products, bitumen and mineral waxes were approximately $
178 billion and the total imports were about $ 96 billion. Leading as the first with $ 51 billion in this
product’s exports, Nigeria was followed by Malaysia with $ 50 billion. Turkey imported the first order
of $ 38 billion in imports of this product. Again, the total exports of precious or semi-precious stones,
precious metals, pearls, imitation jewelery, metal goods are in fact approximately $ 16 billion and the
total import is about $ 9 billion. The largest exporting country in this market has been Turkey with
about $ 11 billion, and it has ranked first with about $ 4 billion in imports. Malaysia has been second
with about $ 3 billion in imports.. On the other hand, the total exports of the member countries in the
chapter such as electrical machinery and devices, audio recording-exporting, television image-sound
recording-exporting devices, accessory-parts-accessories are $ 59 Billion whereas the total import is $
71 Billion. It is seen that total exports in this market can cover a large part of 83% of total imports. As
a result of other comparative chapters made, it has been determined that member states are sufficient
in many cases and that foreign trade can be carried out without any external dependency.
