The Impact of Big Data-Based Management Decisions on Employee Innovation

Öz

This research aims to examine the impact of big data-based management decisions on employees' innovative work behaviors. Data were collected from employees across different departments with varying levels of familiarity with big data. Findings obtained through the Big Data Usage Scale, Innovative Work Behavior Scale, and Organizational Culture Scale indicated that the level of big data usage was less correlated with employee innovative work behaviors and more correlated with organizational culture. Furthermore, individuals working in organizations with a strong perception of the contribution of big data analytics to decision-making processes, who received training, and who fostered a culture that encouraged innovation, were found to have significantly higher big data usage scores. The findings reveal that big data applications are not only a matter of technological capacity but also a process shaped by individual perception, training, and organizational culture. In this context, the research highlights the importance of employee awareness, training, and an innovative culture to increase the effectiveness of big data-based decision-making processes. The research results emphasize that big data strategies in organizations should integrate human capital and cultural investments alongside technology investments.
