DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN GRADUATION PROJECT COURSE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION; ANTALYA BELEK UNIVERSITY

Öz

The Graduation Project course is offered to senior students in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Faculty of Art and Design, Antalya Belek University. It provides a holistic assessment of professional competencies. This course plays a critical role in transferring the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired during interior architecture education into practice, as well as in observing students' professional maturity. As is the case in many institutions offering interior architecture education, students are expected to develop an original project proposal. However, in today's rapidly digitalizing world, it is necessary for interior architecture education to integrate this transformation. In this context, the course design implemented for the Graduation Project course at Antalya Belek University for the 2023-2024 academic year was developed as an innovative model that considers the requirements of digital transformation, incorporates a thesis writing process in addition to project design, and evaluates various criteria. The purpose of this study is to reveal how students experience this course design and, accordingly, contribute to improving the course's innovative structure. The study sample consisted of fourth-year students in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design taking the Graduation Project course in the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. Participants were administered a survey consisting of open-ended questions. Their written responses were evaluated using content analysis. This research is important for assessing the applicability of digital transformation in interior architecture education and understanding its impact on students' project development and presentation processes. The findings aim to offer recommendations that will contribute to both improving the current course structure and developing digitally based interior architecture education models.

İÇMİMARLIK VE ÇEVRE TASARIMI BÖLÜMÜ MEZUNİYET PROJESİ DERSİ TASARIMI VE UYGULAMASI; ANTALYA BELEK ÜNİVERSİTESİ ÖRNEĞİ

Öz

Mezuniyet Projesi dersi, Antalya Belek Üniversitesi Sanat ve Tasarım Fakültesi İçmimarlık ve Çevre Tasarımı Bölümü lisans programında, 8. dönem öğrencilerine yönelik olarak sunulan ve mesleki yeterliliklerin bütüncül olarak değerlendirildiği bir derstir. Bu ders, içmimarlık eğitimi süresince edinilen bilgi, beceri ve yetkinliklerin uygulamaya aktarılması, öğrencilerin mesleki olgunluk düzeylerinin gözlemlenmesi açısından kritik bir rol oynamaktadır. İçmimarlık eğitimi veren pek çok kurumda olduğu gibi, bu derste öğrencilerden özgün bir proje önerisi geliştirmeleri beklenmektedir. Ancak günümüzde hızla dijitalleşen dünyada, içmimarlık eğitiminin de bu dönüşüme entegre olması gerekliliği doğmuştur. Bu bağlamda, 2023-2024 eğitim-öğretim yılında Antalya Belek Üniversitesi’nde Mezuniyet Projesi dersine yönelik uygulanan ders tasarımı; dijital dönüşümün gereklerini dikkate alan, proje tasarımına ek olarak bir tez yazımı sürecini içeren ve çeşitli değerlendirme ölçütlerini barındıran yenilikçi bir model olarak kurgulanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, söz konusu ders tasarımının öğrenciler tarafından nasıl deneyimlendiğini ortaya koymak ve bu doğrultuda dersin yenilikçi yapısının iyileştirilmesine katkı sağlamaktır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 2023-2024 eğitim yılı bahar döneminde Mezuniyet Projesi dersini alan İçmimarlık ve Çevre Tasarımı Bölümü 4. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcılara açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan bir anket uygulanmıştır. Katılımcıların verdikleri yazılı yanıtlar içerik analizi yöntemiyle değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma, içmimarlık eğitiminde dijital dönüşümün uygulanabilirliğini değerlendirme ve bu dönüşümün öğrencilerin proje geliştirme ve sunum süreçlerine etkisini anlama açısından önem taşımaktadır. Elde edilen bulgular hem mevcut ders yapısının iyileştirilmesine hem de dijital dönüşüm temelli içmimarlık eğitimi modellerine katkı sağlayacak öneriler sunmayı hedeflemektedir.
