PRE-REVIEW, PEER REVIEW, AND EDITING PROCESSES
PRE-REVIEW
- Manuscript is first submitted as MS Word or Libreoffice Writer format, along with the potential reviewer list to the system by following the submission procedure of Dergipark.
- After this step, the article enters in the pre-review phase.
- One of the secretaries controls the suitability of the article.
- The similarity ratio of the article (plagiarism check) is controlled by Dergipark (powered by Intihal.net).
- Our plagiarism threshold is 30%, if the article's similarity score is higher, it is requested from the author to decrease the ratio.
- If the article does not reflect the submission format or its language level is inadequate, a revision is issued.
- If the article passes the first submission phase along with a sufficient similarity ratio and language level, the review process begins.
REVIEW
- Section Editor (a natural member of the Editorial Board) is assigned by Editor in Chief.
- Two to three referees are assigned to the manuscript by Section Editor. Referees cannot be assigned from the institution of the author.
- A maximum of 4 weeks is allowed for the evaluation of the article by the reviewers.
-Decision of the review procedure may be rejection, acceptance or revision (minor or major).
- If the decision is rejection, the process is terminated.
- If the decision is revision, the author revises their article within 30 days in accordance with referees' opinions. All revisions the author made must be marked with red color or yellow highlighting.
- If the article is accepted, the third phase, namely editing process, is initiated.
EDITING
- Editing phase contains three sub-divisions in this order: Language editing, layout editing, and proofreading.
- Language editor picks the article and performs a thorough check and makes appropriate changes.
- Layout editor applies the journal's style rules and prepares the article for final proofreading check.
- Proofreader makes a final thorough check and passes the corrections to the layout editor for the final form of the article.
- After successful application of these editing phases, the article is taken into a forthcoming issue.
-When the publishing date of the forthcoming issue comes, the issue is officially published.
