Analysis of work related injuries admitted patient to emergency department.

We aimed to analyse the characteristics and cost of occupational injury patients who admitted to our emergency department. Our study was performed retrospectively between January 1, 2013 - December 31, 2014 at Başkent University Hospital Emergency Department with 469 patients due to occupational accidents. Our patients’ age, gender, service industry, application hour, day, month and year, complaint, trauma location, prognosis, cost and trauma severity were evaluated. While chi-square test was used for the analysis of categorical variables, Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used for analysis of nonparametric data. Results were considered significant at level of p <0.05. The average age of our patients was 34,18 ± 11,4 year and 73.1% of the patients were male. Most of the patients were employed in the service sector (44.8%) . It was found that, most of the applications were on Monday, at the hours of 08:00-16:00 and in August. The most common reason of application was cutting / penetrating wounds (30.5%) and most frequently injured region was the upper extremity (45.4%). It was seen that, 92.1% of the patients were treated as outpatients and discharged. Age, the day of the injury, accident year, the trauma region and patient prognosis had no significant relationship with gender (p> 0.05). There was a significant relationship between gender and sector, reason of the application, application month (p <0.05). Cost median was 77.14 TL. In occupational accidents; cost did not have a significant correlation with sex, month and year of the trauma. There was a significant relationship between cost, application reason and sector (p <0.05). Median of RTS was 7.84. The RTS did not have statistically significant relationship with gender, age, application reason and working sector (p> 0.05). Work-related accidents occur more frequently in young males. In general it is developing pathology in one location.

ACİL SERVİSİMİZE İŞ KAZASI NEDENİYLE BAŞVURAN HASTALARIN ANALİZİ

Hastanemiz acil servisine başvuran iş kazaları olgularının özellikleri ve maliyeti analizinin tespiti amaçlandı. Başkent Üniversitesi Acil Servisde 1 Ocak 2013 - 31 Aralık 2014 tarihleri arasında, iş kazası sebebiyle başvuran 469 hasta ile retrospektif olarak yapıldı. Hastalarımızın yaş, cinsiyet, hizmet sektörü, başvuru saat, gün, ay ve yılı, başvuru şikayeti, travma bölgesi, prognoz, maliyet ve travma şiddetleri değerlendirildi. Kategorik değişkenlerin analizinde Kİ-Kare testi, nonparametrik verilerin analizinde Mann Whitney U ve Kruskall Wallis testleri kullanıldı. Sonuçlar p<0,05 düzeyinde anlamlı kabul edildi. Hastalarımızın yaş ortalaması 34,18±11,4 yıldı ve hastaların %73,1’i erkekti. Hastalar en sık hizmet sektöründe (%44,8) çalışmaktaydı. Başvuruların en sık günün 0800-1600 saatleri arasında, pazartesi günleri ve ağustos ayında gerçekleştiği saptandı. En sık başvuru sebebi kesici/delici alet yaralanması (%30,5) olup, en sık yaralanan bölge üst ekstremite (%45,4) idi. Hastaların %92,1’inin ayaktan tedavi edilerek taburcu edildiği saptandı. Cinsiyet ile; yaş, travmanın olduğu gün, kaza yılı, travma alınan bölge ve hasta prognozları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmadı (p>0,05). Cinsiyet ile; başvuru sebebi, sektör ve başvuru ayları arasında anlamlı ilişki vardı (p<0,05). Maliyet ortancası 77,14 TL idi. İş kazalarında maliyet ile; cinsiyet, travmanın olduğu ay ve yıl arasında anlamlı bir ilişkiye rastlanmadı. Maliyet başvuru sebebi ve sektör arasında anlamlı ilişki vardı (p<0,05). RTS ortancası 7,84 idi. RTS’nin; cinsiyet, yaş, başvurma sebebi ve çalışılan sektör ile istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişkisi saptanmadı (p>0,05). İş kazaları daha çok genç erkeklerde görülür. Genel olarak tek lokalizasyonda gelişen patolojilerdir.
