Emergency Medical System (EMS), is a system which provides emergency medical care during the period beginning from notification of an event until the definitive treatment is started. The aim of this study is to evaluate the the duties of 112 Ambulance personnel during transportation in order to examine their contribution to the treatment in Emergency Departments.
The study was conducted prospectively by the approval of the Ethics committee of Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital. 46 patients with multiple trauma included the study.
For the patients with multiple trauma blood pressure measurement, active venous access, intravenous fluid support, the use of neck collars, back boards and the immobilization of patient. Statistical analyses were performed by using SPSS for Windows, version 15.0 software.
In terms of transportation of the patient we found no significant difference between the teams with doctors and undoctors.
