As under the Selcuqis muslim scholars and especially theologians had
auspices of the rulers, so did they under the Artuqs, among whom Sayfuddin al-Amidî
was the well-known one. The unique way that made theologians prominent to the
rulers was their effort to fut forward the basics of Islam on the one hand and to defend
them against heredox sects on the other. The following piece of writing dealt with
these efforts and their representatives especially Sayfuddin al-Amidî.
