Kadın Sağlığı Alanında Hasta Navigasyonu ve Navigatör Hemşireliğin Kullanımı: Derleme

Öz

Hasta navigasyonu, kronik hastalığı olan kişiler için tanının doğrulanmasını hızlandırmak ve tedavinin baştan sona sürekliliğini sağlamak için tasarlanmış bir kavramdır.
İlk hemşire navigatör figürü onkoloji hastalarına yönelik ortaya çıkmıştır. Navigatör hemşireliğin alanı kanserli hastaların yanı sıra kronik hastalığı olanlar, gebeler, palyatif bakım hastaları ve özel bakım gereksinimi olan yaşlıları da kapsayacak biçimde planlanmış ve uygulanmıştır. Navigatör hemşire, hasta ve ailelerine sağlık hizmeti yolculuklarında seyahat ederken yön sağlar, eğitir ve teşvik eder. Hastalık aşaması, tedavi seçenekleri, semptomlarla başa çıkabilme ve destek kaynakları ile ilgili bilgi sağlamada rehberlik etme, yönlendirme, disiplinler arası bağlantı sağlama görevleri vardır. Kadın sağlığı alanında navigatör hemşire doğum sonrası bakım arayan bir kadına yardımcı olmak için bir hasta rehberi, randevu almasına, ulaşım ve çocuk bakımını koordine etmesine, doğum kontrolü hakkında bilgilendirici broşürler ve danışmanlık vermesine yardımcı olabilir. Aynı zamanda jinekolojik onkoloji hastalarında navigatör hemşire taramaya erişimi artırmaya, teşhis süresini kısaltmaya ve özellikle sağlık eşitsizliği olan popülasyonlarda kanser sonuçlarını iyileştirmekte etkili olabilir.
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Dünya’da ve Türkiye’de kadın sağlığı alanında navigatör hemşireliğin kullanımı ile ilgili araştırmaları gözden geçirmektir.

Patient Navigation and the Use of Navigator Nurses in Women's Health: A Review Abstract

Öz

Patient navigation is a concept designed to expedite the diagnosis confirmation and ensure continuity of care for patients with chronic diseases. The first nurse navigator figure emerged for oncology patients. Navigator nursing was designed and implemented to include not only cancer patients, but also those with chronic diseases, pregnancies, palliative care patients, and elderly individuals with special care needs. The navigator nurse guides, educates, and encourages patients and families during their healthcare journey. They have tasks such as guiding, directing, and providing interdisciplinary connections in providing information on disease stage, treatment options, coping with symptoms, and support resources. In women's health, a navigator nurse in postpartum care can assist a woman seeking care by being a patient guide, coordinating appointments, transportation, and childcare, and providing informative brochures and counseling on birth control. At the same time, navigator nurses in gynecological oncology patients can increase access to screening, shorten diagnosis time, and be effective in improving cancer outcomes, especially in populations with health inequalities.
The purpose of this study is to review research on the use of navigator nursing in women's health in the world and in Turkey.
