Hopelessness, self-esteem, social integration, perceived social support, life satisfaction, and family satisfaction constitute the research variables in this study on people in need of social assistance. The study was conducted with 408 people living in Adıyaman. Firstly, reliability and normality findings were examined. Correlation analysis was conducted to determine the direction and severity of the relationship between the research variables. Hypotheses were tested with regression analysis. It was observed that all of the hypotheses were confirmed.
According to the results of the analysis of the research data, it was seen that hopelessness negatively affected perceived social support, while self-esteem and social integration positively affected perceived social support. Afterwards, it was concluded that perceived social support positively affected both life satisfaction and family satisfaction. As a result, by decreasing the hopelessness levels of people in need of social assistance, increasing their self-esteem and social integration levels, their perceptions of perceived social support increase, and then their family satisfaction and life satisfaction increase.
