LITHIUM-INDUCED EXACERBATION of STUTTER in A CASE with DEVELOPMENTAL STUTTERING

Abstract

Lithium has been used for a long time for treatment of bipolar affective disorder. It may cause many adverse drug reactions on different organ systems. One of them, on the central nervous system is stuttering. Here in this paper, it is discussed that lithium may exacerbate stuttering in an adolescent case with devolepmantal stuttering

Öz

Lityum, bipolar affektif bozukluk tedavisinde uzun dönemdir kullanılan bir ilaçtır. İlacın birçok organ ve sistem üzerinde yan etkileri gözlenmektedir. Kekemelik de lityumun santral sinir sistemi yan etkilerinden biri sayılmaktadır. Bu yazıda, gelişimsel kekemelik öyküsü olan bir ergen hastada lityuma bağlı kekemelik alevlenmesi tartışılmıştır
