The Problem and Psychiatric Diagnosis of the Cases Who Applied to Crisis Intervention Centre of Ankara University.
Abstract
Object: The aim of this study is to determine
the sociodemographic characteristics, problem
areas, the diagnosis and treatment of the cases
who applied to the Crisis Intervention Center of Ankara
University during the year 1997. Method: The
data were collected to retrospectively by scanning
the records. Only the first admissions were included,
which vvere 364 in number. Results: 79.4% of
the subjects vvere vvomen, 20.6% vvere men and
the mean age was 19.4 10.51. "Marital problems"
was the most common among the problem areas
(30.2%), follovved by "interpersonal problems with
parents (12.1%)" and "interpersonal problems with
boy or girl friends (12.1%)", 27.7% of the subjects
did not receive a psychiatric diagnosis. "Adjustment
disorder" was the most common diagnosis.
40.1% of the subjects vvere not prescribed any
medication, the rest vvere prescribed various medications
the majority of vvhich vvere antidepressant
and anxiolitics
