Aim: The study aimed to evaluate the relationship between the anxiety level of pregnant women diagnosed with COVID-19 and prenatal attachment.
Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive design was used. The study was conducted between 15.10.2021-31.12.2021. The sample included 278 pregnant women who were admitted to a gynecology service in a hospital. Data; The Personal Information Form was collected using the State Anxiety Inventory (SAI) and Trait Anxiety Inventory (TAI) and the Prenatal Attachment Inventory (PAI).
Results: The average age of the participants was 29.45 ± 5.59, 48.9% were between 19-28 years old, the average gestational week was 34.24 ± 4.13. SAI mean score was 48.61 ± 11.42; TAI mean score was 43.67 ± 8.49; PAI mean score is 68.08 ± 12.35. There was a significant difference between the thought state experienced when diagnosed with COVID-19 and the mean SAI, TAI and SCQ scores. When the relationship between the scales is evaluated, state anxiety level, trait anxiety level is high, positive and significant.
Conclusion: As the state anxiety increased, trait anxiety level increased, as prenatal attachment increased, the trait anxiety level decreased. Additionally, state and trait anxiety levels of pregnant women with COVID-19 were higher compared to the scale average score.
